Websites
Do you work with WordPress?
Yes. I do audits, remodels, security, content updates, and ongoing support on WordPress and WooCommerce. If your site is already on WordPress, we can improve it without starting over.
Do you work on non-WordPress sites?
Yes. I work with Shopify, Wix, GoDaddy, and other site builders. If your site is on something I don't list on my services page, ask anyway, as I likely can still help.
What about custom or full-code sites (no site builder)?
Yes. I work with full-code sites as comfortably as with builders. Full code gives you near-infinite customization; drag-and-drop builders are easier to change yourself but sacrifice a lot of control. It's a balance. For most small businesses, a builder or a CMS like WordPress is more sustainable so you can update the site without a developer. If you need something highly custom, we can do that too. We can talk through what fits your goals and how you want to maintain it.
How long does a website remodel take?
It depends on what we're doing. A few fast wins might be done in hours or a couple of days. A full remodel can take several weeks. We agree on a timeline after the initial review so you know what to expect and when you'll be live.
What's the difference between a remodel and a full rebuild?
A remodel improves design, content, and structure on the platform you already use. A full rebuild means starting over from scratch, sometimes on a different platform. I focus on remodels so you keep what works and avoid changing hosts or learning a new system. I do new builds too when that's the right call.
Do you build new sites from scratch?
Yes, but I always prefer to see if your existing setup can be improved first. Get in touch and we'll figure out what platform and approach fit your goals.
Do you offer ongoing website support?
Yes. I do updates, troubleshooting, and small improvements on an ongoing basis. I document what I do so you or someone else can take over later. No long-term lock-in; we work together as long as it makes sense for both of us.
What does a website audit include?
A review of your site's health: performance, structure, plugins, and how it lines up with your goals. You get a prioritized report with what can be improved, rough time estimates, and a clear next step. Nothing changes on your live site until you're ready to move forward.
Can you help with my Google Business Profile?
Yes. I review your website and how it connects to your Google listing: links, directions, and on-site references so visitors can find and trust your profile. We make sure your site and your Google presence work together.
Can you work on my online store or eCommerce site?
Yes. I work with WooCommerce, Shopify, Wix, and other store platforms. I help with product pages, checkout flow, store design, and the same remodels and support I offer for other sites. If you sell online, we can improve the experience without switching platforms.
What if my site was hacked or I think it's compromised?
I can help. We clean up what we can, lock down access (strong passwords, two-factor authentication), and harden the site so it's less likely to happen again. If it's beyond my scope, I'll say so and point you toward a security specialist.
Do you consider accessibility when you build or remodel sites?
Yes. My baseline is WCAG 2.1 AA. Keyboard navigation, alt text, contrast, and the rest of it are part of how I build and remodel sites. We work it into the plan together. A formal accessibility audit is its own type of engagement; for the day-to-day work, I build in good practices as a matter of course.
Traffic, conversion, and sales
Can you get me more site traffic?
Traffic comes from how you reach people: marketing, search over time, ads, word of mouth. The website doesn't create that. It's where people land. What I do is make sure your site works when they get there: fast, clear, easy to use, so it supports whatever you're doing to bring them in. Removing barriers can help; I just can't promise a specific traffic number. I have experience with marketing and SEO and can advise on both, but I'm not an SEO specialist or a marketing exec. I don't run campaigns; I make sure the site supports what you're doing and isn't working against you.
Can you increase my conversion rate?
Conversion depends on a lot: your offer, who's visiting, how they found you, and whether the site makes it easy to say yes. I focus on that last part: clear structure, clear next steps, less friction, mobile-friendly. Removing those barriers often does improve conversion; I just can't promise a specific percentage. We'd look at your situation and what's actually in the way.
Will a new website increase my sales?
A new or remodeled site can help: it can look more credible, work better on phones, load faster, and make it easier for people to contact you or buy. So the answer can be yes. The site can be part of the picture; I just can't promise a specific lift in sales. Sales depend on your offer, your market, and how you reach people. What I do is make sure the website isn't the thing holding you back and that when people land on it, the experience supports the rest of what you're doing.
Why can't you guarantee more business for my site?
Think of it like a restaurant. My work is making sure the inside is welcoming, the menu is clear, the bathroom plumbing works, and the place is ready for customers. When people show up, they stay and have a good experience. I'm not the one putting up the billboard or running the ads that get them in the door. I can advise on that in certain situations, but my main focus is the place itself: so the customers who arrive stay, and the site supports whatever you're doing to bring them there.
Do you do SEO?
I consider SEO in my work: structure, content quality, and how the site is built for findability. I have practical knowledge and can advise on what to fix and what to avoid. I'm not an SEO agency running link campaigns and content calendars. What I do is make sure the site isn't working against search, and I see how tech, content, and design decisions affect that. A lot of the time marketing, branding, and tech are in different silos and nobody connects the dots. I do.
Do you do conversion rate optimization (CRO)?
I care a lot about how the site is built for conversion: where CTAs sit, how much friction there is, whether the next step is findable. I have practical CRO knowledge and make sure the site supports conversion instead of undermining it. I'm not a CRO shop running A/B tests at scale. I'm the person who sees how marketing, design, and tech decisions land on the page and makes sure they work together. Marketing's brilliant new hero video that no one noticed pushes the CTA below the fold? I notice, and I care.
Why does it matter that you work across websites, marketing, and tech?
Because in a lot of places, marketing doesn't know what branding is doing, and neither knows what the tech team is doing. Decisions get made in silos and the site ends up working against the strategy. I see it all. So when we build or remodel a site, we can make sure the pieces fit: the site supports findability, supports conversion, and doesn't undo the work everyone else is doing. I'm not trying to be every department; I'm making sure the website actually supports what you're trying to do.
Pricing and how we work
How do you charge?
By time (15-minute increments), by project, or by retainer. We choose what fits. Every project starts with a free consultation so there are no surprises. See the pricing page for the full picture.
Do you work remotely?
Yes. I work with clients remotely and am based in Colorado. I serve clients across the United States. If you're in the Denver area, we can meet in person for things like device setup or printer help, or just to kick off a project.
Do I need to be tech-savvy to work with you?
No. I work with small business owners and individuals who'd rather focus on their work than on tech. I explain things clearly and leave you with documentation or simple steps when that helps. You don't have to become a tech person.
Do you work with individuals or only businesses?
Both. I work with small businesses, solopreneurs, and individuals. Same approach: we figure out what you need and what fits your situation. If you're not sure whether I'm a fit, the free consultation is the place to ask.
Is there a minimum project or retainer?
We size the work to what you need. Some engagements are a few hours; others are ongoing. There's no one-size-fits-all minimum. We discuss scope and options in the free consultation so you know what you're signing up for.
Beyond websites
Do you only do websites?
No. I also help with digital habits (inbox, files, passwords), devices (selection, setup, printers), and workflows (documentation, handoffs). Same approach: clear communication and work that fits what you need. See the services page for the full list.
Can you help with my printer or other devices?
Yes. I help with device selection, setup, and fixing things when they stop working. Printers and scanners are a common one. For selection and some setup we can do a lot remotely. Physical device troubleshooting or setup usually needs in-person work; where that happens is something we can figure out.
My inbox is out of control. Do I need an app or a course?
Not necessarily. I offer a free guide to get you started (no sign-up), and I work with people one-on-one on inbox overwhelm without requiring an app or a big course. It's a human-led path: habits, a plan, and support. For personal email, I can clean it for you if you prefer; I'd rather help you get to a place where you can keep it under control yourself.
What about my work email or work inbox?
For work accounts, I only advise. I don't access or work inside your work inbox; that's a line I don't cross for legal and privacy reasons. I can help you with best practices, a plan, and habits so you can get and keep it under control yourself. For personal email, I can do hands-on work if that's what you want.
What do you mean by digital habits or digital hygiene?
The day-to-day ways you handle email, files, passwords, and accounts so things stay findable, secure, and under control. When that slips, work gets harder and risk goes up. I help you build habits and systems that fit how you actually work—inbox, file organization, password manager—so you spend less time on mess and more on what matters.
Can you help me organize my files and folders?
Yes. I help overhaul and reorganize folders and files so you can find what you need and keep things from piling up. We design a structure that makes sense for you, move and rename as needed, and leave you with a system you can maintain. Same approach as the rest of my work.
Can you help me choose or set up a password manager?
Yes. I help with selecting a password manager, getting it set up, and using it until it becomes a habit. Stronger security and easier logins—one place for passwords, with support so you don't have to figure it out alone.
Can you help me choose a new computer or device?
Yes. I help you pick the right phone, laptop, or other device so you can decide with confidence. Once you have it, I can set it up: accounts, settings, and the basics so you're ready to go. We match the device to what you actually need.
Documentation and continuity
What are continuity services?
Work that keeps your business or operations running when things change: someone leaves, you retire, you sell, or you need to hand off access and knowledge. I help with technical documentation, who has access to what, and planned handoffs of passwords, accounts, and key information so nothing gets lost and security stays intact. I facilitate the technical and practical side; legal transfer of property or IP, and any insured or guaranteed successorship, are outside my scope. That's for your lawyer and other advisors. See the workflows and transitions section on the services page for the full picture.
Do you write or update documentation for processes and systems?
Yes. I create clear, usable documentation for how things work: processes, systems, tools, or workflows. So your team, a successor, or you in six months can understand and maintain them. Especially useful when key people leave or when you're planning a handoff.
